A boot for all seasons
Bought these boots from a store in Kenmare before a trip to Ben Nevis in July '09.
I've walked everywhere and then some in them plus climbed a few Munros in Scotland and all the Munros in Ireland twice over with these boots in varing weather conditions. They are still in mint condition and have been very pleasant to wear, so much so that although I have a $400 pair of lizard Footjoy golf shoes, I prefer to wear my Grisport Storm Hiking Boots on the course instead.
Ireland is a trifle damp, my golf shoes have 6mm tungsten spikes but there is better grip in the boots. There are so comfortable they should be called "Footjoys"
Finally the Amazon price is a lot better than the high street one,but either way they are simply a very nice possession.

Almost 1200 complaint-free miles
In good conditions, I always wear lightweight fabric boots, so the 1,180 miles that these have covered from new has been exclusively in bad weather or rugged terrain.
They have been immersed in filthy water and mud on many occasions, and brutally dried on boiler tops several times.
Last year, I walked the Coast to Coast in them (mainly Sunday-style strolling underfoot, I agree, but it was day after day in poor weather). However, this year they really came into their own when they took me along the Pennine Way - 270 miles in 14 days, of which only three were not very, very, very wet.
There is now a suspicion of porousness on one patch of the right boots' uppers, and the soles are showing some sign of wear, but their only real fault is that I had to replace a lace last month! Oh, the colour has disappeared from the entire toe area, and neither leather dye nor constant applications of brown polish will restore it.
I was lucky that they fitted me so perfectly, but...
