Having worn through two pairs of Zamberlan Vioz boots in the last 5 years, and wanting something a little more robust for longer trecks, I opted to upgrade to the Vioz plus. A sturdy boot, very well finished, the Vioz plus looks the part and has the usual Zamberlan fit - although this particular pair are apporx half a size bigger than my previous Zamberlan boots, despite both being a size 45 so you may want to think about a volume adjuster. Once broken in a little, the boots are as good as I hoped - sturdy, comfortable and easy going on the feet. I remain a little worried by what appears to be exposed foam on the sole - but this appears to be common in many high end boots at the moment. The only slight criticism is the Vibram sole - normally a major plus, but even after less than 50 miles walking, I can see that this will wear out quickly

At last a "Made in Italy" shoe!
Been looking for light walking/hiking shoes to wear in the summer and in hot countries and tried a couple of other well known brands at the top of their price range. Alas all 'Made in China' with poor quality, fit and workmanship. I have had Zamberlan (and Scarpa) walking boots before and they were of superior craftsmanship. Of course these brands (sadly) are also occasionally made in the far east. However, these shoes are made in Italy, look great, feel great and fit exactly as per my ordinary shoe size. The leather is nice and soft and does not need "breaking in". I wore them for a couple of hours of street walking and they felt just fine although the Vibram soles give the shoes some (expected and desired) rigidity and stiffness not needed for everyday use. How will they fare with years of use? Only time will tell but the signs are good.
