Bought Another Pair they were that Good!
I love the Innov8 Roclite 390 Boots. Myself and a friends walk Munros every other weekend. I use a standard walking boot, and when i saw his Innov8 I first used to ridicule him calling them 'astronaut slippers'. After him convincing me they were the best boot he had ever worn i reluctantly purchased a pair. Now I am converted to Inno8 walking boots, and trail shoes. They are the lightest thing on your feet like walking in a really comfortable trainer without the usual ankle weight that a normal boot brings. I have had them over all sorts of terrain, and they are 100% waterproof.
I am converted like other walkers that these new lightweight boots can deal with all type of terrain, and the old myth about a heavy support walking boot is a must is lost forever. There are five of us walking and now four us us have these, and the new version. I like these that much I purchased a spare pair just in case.

Good shoe let down by weak lacing system
I bought a pair of these shoes in August 2011, and have worn them for 6 long walks(25m plus). The shoes are very comfy, excellent at keeping water out and have superb grip, even on steep, muddy slopes. They are also very light.

However the speed lacing loops are weak. One gave way after two walks, and a second after six. Also the stitching keeping the loops in place is coming away in several places. The lacing system will not last a year in my opinion and then the shoes will be useless. I wash my shoes after every walk, so I would question whether they are robust enough for muddy walking, which begs the question what sort of walking are they intended for? Clean water only?

If the lacing system could be improved, perhaps with a return to eyelets (what was wrong with them anyway?) the shoes would be great.

Very narrow
Just be aware that this shoe is very narrow. Even if I ordered half size bigger than I normally wear at trekking shoes, it was no way my feet were comfortable in these shoes. Not a suitable shoe if you have a relatively wide foot.. I returned them.

Just one point I'd like to make...the Vibram sole... works in most places but on wet worn concrete and surfaced areas thet have that green mossy surface they slip and slide, so can't give 5 stars. On other New Balance footwear that doesn't incorporate Vibram I've had no problems at all, even on wet grass. (so 5 stars) I am a Milkman and walk on a multitude of different surfaces and in varying weather conditions

Brought these boots before Xmas, got them in time for the snow early jan 13. Wore them everyday and kept my feet dry. I would recommend these to the military, I'm army, they go perfect with the mtp.

I bought my Salomon boots as they came highly recomended, they were the most comfortable boots that I had ever worn, very light and giving good confidence on steep ground. A joy to wear all day with one pair of socks and great for hot weather walking in Crete, brilliant, would have awarded 5 stars. There is a but and it is a big one, they are falling apart after less than three years and they can not be repaired. The mid sole unit is de-naturing and crumbling away and as a result the sole and the uppers which are both in good condition are no longer joined together. A bit of digging about and it is obvious that the problem is not unique to me, LSR told me that it is common for this to happen and that they can not be repaired. I recieved a rude and unhelpfull response from Salomon UK, " they are out of guarantee, buy some new boots" and " you must have walked through some acid ". Watch out on wet stones!
Very comfortable initially but have stretched considerably in 4 months since purchase. Wore them in Austria in February when they showed excellent warmth and grip in snow but grip is terrible on wet smooth surfaces. Have fallen three times today while fording streams in Wales!

Decent grip at last!
I got fed up with my previous walking shoes having insufficient grip on muddy surfaces, and feeling bulky and clumsy.
These are the lightest walking shoes that I've owned.
They're comfortable, they do seem to be waterproof, they look neat, and the grip pattern is good - so far I'm very pleased!
