Very Comfortable - But Beware of Grip in Ice/Wet
I have owned these boots now for 3 years, and not only are they the best constructed boots that I have ever owned....they are also the most comfortable. They have been well used on day hikes in the Lake District, Alpine snow, and coastal paths.
Construction is Leather and GoreTex breatheable fabric. The leather part of the upper is smooth with very few seam joins, and the join between fabric and leather is very well taped. I have waded through mud, snow and water up to the top of these boots and not once have they leaked. They have also been very easy to clean as I have no worries about brushing them under a running water supply. The breathability is first class and even my hot feet remain cosy dry and not overheated at all after a full day of walking.
I have not given them the full five stars for one reason only...the poor grip which the boots give over icy surfaces, and over wet rock. Dry conditions, snow or deep mud are fine, butI have little confidence in the grip...
so far so good
Only bought this today and they fit like a glove, feel great and good support al round. Still walking them in but so far so good.
