Great shoes
I love merrells and these shoes are nice looking, great for a wider foot and comfortable. Theonly thing was they are meant to be waterproof and I came back with a wet big toe!

Superb, comfortable shoe
I am a Salomon fan, being on my second pair of their gore-tex trail running shoes, which I often wear for walking in the summer months. I bought these as a heavier weight option for the winter months - most of my walking is on country lanes or coastal paths. My first walk in them was for over an hour, around 3.5 miles (with a dog, so slower than normal!) and they were comfortable from the outset, no rubbing or painful spots and are very light on the feet. They are true to size and I like the grey/black colourway. Not sure how they would be if you do a lot of "heavy" walking - heather and fells, for example, but for paths and trails they are fantastic. Great price from Amazon and very speedy delivery.

GREAT VALUE
I have had rockport boots in the past and were stolen in a burglary, i noticed these boots at a great price, i have tried other makes of boots in a size 8 too small a size 9 too big and i find it hard to get a UK size 8.5 in boots that i like, and i knew i would need these boots in a size 9 because rockport usually make boots a bit smaller and these boots fit like a glove i ordered the colour VICUNA because the colour PINECONE are more than double the price, i know these aren't proper mountain or hiking boots if you can afford to do these two things you can afford to buy more expensive boots, and i find the quality very good and if you are on a budget these are perfect and i know rockport boots last a lot longer than other makes, and the person that stole my last pair i hope you never walk again... because i had to wear slippers until i could afford to buy some cheap footwear, and before anyone asks i was sleeping in my bed when i got burgled...

Great Boots - Excellent Quaity
I have been a fan of Rockport footwear, shoes and boots since buying my first pair of boots in the mid 1980's. I needed a new winter boot as here in the part of France that we live we have proper winters with overnight temperatures in the -10/20C range and day times temperatures little above freezing. This together with a lots of rain and a fair bit of snow meant that the boots need to be warm and waterproof.

I was delighted to find these boots on offer at a good price on Amazon. I have also previously also worn Timberland boots and always found them warm and waterproof but I favour Rockport as they are so much lighter to wear. I was a bit concerned when I read the One Star review from Peter Wilday titled 'Rubbish' stating that they were not waterproof for walking in puddles or even wet grass but decided to trust my own instincts and experience. Comfortable and supportive
I bought these boots in order to do the 3 Peaks Challenge. I tried on a wide variety of different boots including Asolo, Saloman, Karrimor, Berghaus and other Meindls but these were the ones that fit me the best and felt most comfortable.

I've now worn them for several practice walks of over ten miles covering a variety of terrain and have recently completed the 3 Peaks in them. Combined with Smartwool Heavy Crew socks, I had no discomfort at time with these boots - they kept my feet warm and comfortable. They are not as rigid as some boots but I preferred this, despite walking on rock a lot. I liked the bit of flexibility and lighter wieght of the boots compared to some of the others.

One of the reasons I preferred the Meindls is they supposedly fit a broader foot better - they certainly seemed to for me. I also wore them with Superfeet insoles and this caused no problem.

I can certainly vouch for their waterproofing. On the way down Snowdon we got...

Poor lacing characteristics
The boot is well designed and breaks in well, however it is let down by the selection of eyelets which forces a small diameter of lace and eyelets which induce excessive wear on the laces, with only very little use (about a month after buying them) I have gone through the provided laces and have yet to find a replacement lace with small enough aglets. In summary, if you value having tension appropriate for stopping movement and friction, give these a skip.

So disappointed!
Bought these 6 months ago for dog walking and working around the stable yard. I was really pleased with them as they were warm, comfortable and fully waterproof which has been vital this winter! After slipping over in the mud twice I was less impressed with the grip of the soles, but was prepared to live with that as the comfort factor was so good. However, after a couple of months the joins between the rubber outer and the neoprene on both boots started to show wear at the front of the ankle. At first it wasn't a problem as it was just a crease from walking in the boots, but the crease deepened to a crack and then became a wide slit about 2 ins long which went right through to the inner lining making the boots useless as no longer waterproof. I wore them a lot but was always careful to wash them off after each wearing and keep them in good condition so I expected them to last longer.

Good looking, but could have done with some better soles to be truly versatile.
Overall quality was excellent, and weight was good compared to Muck Boots, which are more rugged and definitely warmer, but weigh 1.5 times as much again and are not stylish.
Nice idea but you still need to have working and riding boots
