Quality that lasts
I have two pairs. The first is fifteen years old and was resoled about 8 years ago by Brasher and came back as good as new. The second pair were bought about 7 years ago and are just starting to get thin on the sole. They were purchased because I didn't expect the first pair to go on forever but that is just what they seem to be doing. Alternating between the two pairs I wear them almost daily but give them a quick polish and they both still come up like a new and the linings and all the fittings are still in good condition.... literally nothing has gone wrong with them and they are impressively comfortable. Although expensive to start with their lifetime costs are actually peanuts given their longevity and they shown no signs of turning up their toes just yet so my comment is "Bravo Brasher, its a pity that not eveything is so reliable".

this shoe is a good fit for the average foot, it has plenty of toe room, and the heels fit snug without rubbing.
The sole gives a comfortable spring and wears well, (over a year of daily wear in my husbands case.)
And ofcourse it has the goretex lining which means a warm dry foot in wet weather.

Very solid boots with some niggles.
I've had these boots for a while now bought from a different outlet. They are very hard wearing, warm, and very waterproof. I'd expect nothing less from brasher.

Now the downsides, you need to wear the boots in on some easy treks first. I wouldn't recommend breaking them in from new on a moderate-hard long distance trail. The main reason being that they can be slippy on rubble/loose rocks or mossy rocks. Also, before they are worn in, if you are not used to brasher boots, you may find that the toe lip can catch on some larger rocks when trying to scramble over them.

Saying all that however, if you are a walker/hiker who spends a fair amount of time in the valleys or mountains, you probably wont see much of a problem with them at all. My comments were more directed to the newbie walker who is looking to upgrade their "beginners" boots and get some solid and long lasting ones.

All in all 4/5 as they are excellent boots, but not really recommended for...

The Brasher hurricane shoe is a fair quality for the price. It keeps the wet out, as you would expect, and has good torsional rigidity, helping stability when walking, and stops uneven ground digging into your soles. It has quite a wide fit, so with narrow feet the heel gives little support and the foot lifts when walking. Also grip is poor in the wet, and awful in ice and frost, making winter walking an interesting experience.

Worth the money
This is the second pair of these sandals I've bought. Outstandingly good
I bought a pair of this same boot two years ago. They were superb boots and excellent value for money. Unfortunately, the fox walked off with one of my boots one night so I had to purchase a second pair. As before, the new ones are extremely comfortable (from the moment you put them on), do the job they are made for and - I think - look really good. If you want comfortable boots for walking that do the job, keep your feet warm and dry, look good, and are great value for money you won't need anything else but a pair of these.
